Dental Care Technology

Advancements in technology are happening every day. At Children’s Dental Care, Dr. LaLande uses all the current technology within her dentist office. Since we specialize in infant, children and adolescent care, it’s important to have the proper, up-to-date equipment. An excellent dentist like Dr. LaLande keeps current and informed when it comes to new, better and more comfortable ways to treat your child’s teeth.

The basic technology we use around the office includes, but is not limited to, air abrasion, lasers, intraoral camera, and digital radiography.

Air abrasion is dental care without the drill. During air abrasion, a dental instrument is used to spray away decay or potential areas for cavities. Through this tool, a stream is aimed at an infected or stained area of a tooth. The air abrasion assists by removing teeth stains or decay through a gentle spray.

It may sound scary to young patients, but our lasers are kid-friendly. In fact, lasers have many advantages when it comes children dentistry. One of these advantages is that Dr. Carla Lalande doesn’t need to use any invasive needles or drills for a procedure. This technology has proven to be a safe and effective way to treat children’s oral maintenance.

Intraoral cameras allow for accurate representation of the entire mouth. There are difficult areas in the mouth that can be hard to see in order to accurately determine the state of a tooth or a cavity. Intraoral cameras also allow for us to show you and your child the healthy state of their mouth. This helps us to educate you so that you can make the best decision in proceeding with your child’s care. These cameras are the ideal instrument to communicate what habits need to improve, or what routines need to be continued.

Digital radiography is a kind of X-ray imaging. This, much like intraoral cameras, permits Dr. Carla Lalande to properly see a child’s whole dental structure. Similar to any X-ray, the digital radiography creates images for us to archive in order to monitor children’s growth. The image is immediate and accurate to ensure proper treatment of teeth.

Children’s Dental Care carefully chooses every instrument utilized on behalf of your child’s oral health. We want you to feel confident about your infant, child or adolescent’s treatment. We are well-equipped to treat your child with the care and attention they and their smile deserve for a healthy mouth.

I brought in both of my children (6 and 4), the staff was so friendly, patient, and accommodating. From the receptionist, the hygienist, to the dentist there is a high degree of professionalism exhibited throughout!
